It's That Time Of Year!
The Rules
You Bring:
A Friend
A small food contribution for the party
Brunch food items, please: bagels, fruit salads, cheese & crackers, other bakery items, breakfast side dishes
At least $20 worth of non-perishable food items*
I heartily suggest things like bags of flour, sugar, pasta and other bulk items.
Think construction materials, not finished product.
In exchange for your generosity, we will reward you with:
One of Tim's world-famous Omelettes,
featuring nearly 50 different toppings (cheese, meats, veggies, sauces, etc.)
for all kinds of tastes, from pure carnivore to dedicated vegan (yes, we have an Omelete sans egg)
One of Tim's almost-equally-famous Bloody Marys,
plus coffee, juice, mimosas, screwdrivers and other beverages
* Many will note this increase in "admission" from the "2 cans" requirement of years past. The reason is simple.
The shelters are hurting.
In the aftermath of disasters like Hurricane Katrina, many of us poured our hearts out to relief efforts like the Red Cross and Habitat For Humanity. But after making those donations, many local charity groups found themselves in much worse shape than normal. With groups expecting continued shortfalls for the upcoming winter, and with gas prices skyrocketing, unemployment rising and families caught in the middle, food and homeless organizations are frightened about what will happen in January and February this upcoming year. We all know the government won't be helping -- they're cutting programs, not raising them -- so I want to help fill the gap and I'm asking you to help.
